This is ‘Jenny’ our Parsons Jack Russell, we got her from a rescue home, she was found wandering the streets at the sweet age of 8 weeks. She became part of our life at 12 weeks old. Now at 4 years old a part of the family and crew. Loves digging, chasing anything that moves, being a cutie and knowing it… her main job is guarding Teila and being the lookout when we move, her place being on top of the roof ( chained as she has a nack of still chasing things that move even on top of the boat ) We would`nt be without her.
Season of 2009.
Jenny has made lots of friends and loves meeting children, even if they don`t have a football or tennis ball to play with!.
Last year she made friends with children from as far as the USA, New Zealand, Australia, and a wide variety of children, mums and dads from the continent, as well as families from the UK. She is very photogenic and will pose at the sight of a camera, she is on many reels of film and also the memory cards of the new digital cameras. In fact its the only time she actually sits still, when she has her photo taken!!!!!!!.
Rabbits seem to be her pasttime when we moor up at New Marton, on the Llangollen canal, they give her a good game of chase, along with the odd squirrel or two!. Now at the age of 4 years old, we can tell you, she hasn’t slowed down in any way at all, and is full of fun and bounce from the moment she wakes up in the morning, garry takes her on her first morning walk every day and have the early morning rabbit chase, in a near by field that belongs to one of the cottages here at new marton top lock. It doesnt matter if they all hide on hearing her dog tag tinkling on her collar, as by now she knows where all their burrows are, and does the route of the burrows sniffing out the rabbits for a game of chase.
( I really should add to those of you who may be a little concerned, she never actually catches a rabbit when she chases them, its all a game to chase them into their burrows.. so please don`t be alarmed )
The season of 2009 has started, and Jenny is busy making new friends already, some children have come back on the canals for a holiday with their mum’s and dad’s, and have stopped by to say hello to Jenny. Jenny has had a lovely time with an old friend called ‘Sam’..he’s a spotty-dog cross, and is at the tender age of 14 with achey bones, and does`nt really do games of ‘chase’ anymore. His mum and dad have to lift him back onboard their boat at night time when its time for him to come in for his tea!. Jenny is quite happy to share her water bowl with him…although he does drink alot, and lets us know it needs re-filling, when it is low.
Jenny is also a ‘sun babe’, she loves to lay on the grass by our boat lay in the sun, but if its a bit chilly she will find a nice spot in the sun on a cushion in the cratch, and will doze away the afternoon sunning herself. She has loved the sun ever since we have had her and if all is quiet and she is not by one of our sides, we look in the cratch and there she is stretched out in the sun.
